qBittorent projesinin amacı uTorrent uygulamasına karşı özgür yazılım programı oluşturmaktır. Ayrıca qBittorent bütün platformlarda çalışır (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, OS/2, FreeBSD). qBittorent QT4 ve libtorrent-rasterbar tabanlı yazılım sistemi kullanmaktadır. qBittorent yazılımı ise boş zamanlarında tamamen gönüllülerin geliştirmesiyle yazılmış bir torrent up-down programıdır. Program ajax ve UI ile özdeştir. Gelişmiş arama kısmı sayesinde istediğiniz dosyayı herhangi bir siteye erişmeksizin hızlıca indirebilirsiniz. RSS kaynakları takip ederek düzenli bir sistem oluşturabilirsiniz. Dosya Up - Down hızını ayarlayıp isteğinize göre indirme sağlayabilirsiniz.
